The helmet having large detachable floppy cover constructed of wool with its spiral weave pattern consistent with original examples is complete with its two piece Heer Panzer beret insignia! The insignia are both 100% originally period hand applied, it has a white on black wreath & cocarde and also a grey on green eagle, both are attached with the same linen thread.

There are no damages or missing parts to the cap. the cover’s stem was neatly removed. The accompanying protective helmet has a full leather sweatband which is size stamped 56 in black ink, it is also stamped in black ink on the inner sweatband with maker, “Uniformen mützenfabrik   Wilhelm Wethekam, Dresden 1937”

The name tag is marked “Wilhelm Wewel – 3.Pz. Rgt. Nr.11”  the helmet has a black oil-cloth lining and has its complete set of six rubber ventilation grommets, this rare item is in excellent condition with only a few moth bites to the cover as well as the obvious signs of wear, splendid example and a Rare item!

The cap which could be a officer upgrade has a body made of trikot wool with a dark green cap band and pink rosa coloured piping in wool. The composite visor has fine finish with very light service wear, the silver metallic chin cord is held in place with two silver pebbled buttons, The insignia to the front has a zinc Heer national emblem and matching wreath with felt centred rosette attached by prongs which do not penetrate the lining. The interior has its celluloid sweat diamond removed as do most, cap is a size 58cm,  The lining materials are an orange/tan colour  cloth, the pliable brown leather sweatband has almost no damage apart from 1 slight small tear about 3mm and another small mark in 1 place,  cap is in excellent condition and retains its bright coloured waffenfarbe. We must stress this cap is one of the best we have had for a very long time and does not have any traves of mothing!

This would be a superb addition to any collection!

Premium example well marked in black ink to the maker Willy Sprengpfeil, dated 1938, size 56. The caps lining is of a grey coloured ribbed cotton, there are 2  black enamel finished grommets attached, the cap body itself is made of high quality early issue black wool, all insignia is factory machine applied with the woven subdued patter national emblem and black backed rosette also being machine applied with black thread, the lemon yellow coloured soutache is originally straight machine stitched, in beautiful condition and free of any damage!

Very nice G.I. Bring-back helmet. The helmet is ckl64 marked to the rear inner skirt.

The helmet is untouched as found, the decal is almost all there with very minor abrasions, the liner shows some natural wear and some shrinkage of the leather which has caused the rear seam to split.

Overall a very nice honest m42 which displays very well!

The peak is unbroken, 2 metal closure buttons to the front and subdued insignia period factory applied.
