British WW2 Pixie/Tank Suit

Information

Here we have a British Tankers Over-suit or “Pixie Suit” maker-marked and dated 1945.

Beginning in 1943 these suits were issued & used by armoured vehicle crews including all tank and mobile reconnaissance units, They were designed so that they would protect the wearer somewhat from various things during a event such as fuel etc, Hence the double zips to get the over-suit off in a hurry should the need arise! The suit has its original label maker inside the left sleeve marked to “CHARLES MARKSON LTD”, and dated 1944! It is also ink stamped with the War Department arrow next to it.

The suit is canvas lined with wool flannel, and is a very nice “size 3” complete with all the straps, Original “Newey” patented brass snaps, buckles, “Lightning” & “Swift” labelled brass zippers, etc. The hood is also included. There are some storage stains on the sleeve as seen in the pictures. Other than the stains it is an excellent example of this relatively scarce item.

This item is bulky and weights ~8 lb.

Perfect for and D-Day display!!!
